Parties
We have class parties four times during the year: Fall, Winter, Spring and the end of the year. Each party needs Planning parent who will be in charge of coordinating the party and communicating with the other parents. The parties are for the children in the class and their parents. We ask that you make other arrangements for siblings.
Creative Curriculum/Teaching Strategies Gold
*Our curriculum is a comprehensive curriculum where teachers are able to respond to the individual needs and learning styles of all the children.
*The classroom is set up into interest areas: Blocks, Dramatic Play, Small Toys, Art, Library, Discovery, Sand and Water, Music, Computers, and Outdoor play. Children can explore, discover and grow in these interest areas.
Literacy- vocabulary and language, phonological awareness, letters, words, print, comprehension, books, and other texts
Mathematics- numbers, patterns and relationships, geometry and spatial awareness, measurement, and data collection, organization, and representation
Science- the physical properties of objects, living things, and the earth and environment
Social Studies- how people live, work, get along with others, characteristics and languages of different cultures and societies
The Arts- dance, music, dramatic play, drawing and painting
Technology- tools and their basic operations and uses
Process Thinking- observing and exploring, problem solving, connecting, organizing, communicating, and representing information.
For Families:
*Parents have the opportunity to stay connected through Parents Central on Teachingstrategies.com. Family members are welcomed to create a project or come read a book with the class.
Reminders:
*Written communication or lunch money should be placed in your child’s folder.
*Any changes that are made for dismissal must be written on a note to be sent to the office.
*Be sure to check the folders daily for any home/school communication.
