March 2020

Dear GJM Community,

Read Across America was celebrated in a very big way at the George J. Mitchell School. Parents and community member visited classrooms to read, students dressed as their favorite Dr. Seuss character, and some had a chance to read to a therapy dog. Thank you to everyone who made this week so special for the students. It was so great to see everyone showcase their love for reading in such a tremendous way.

On March 11th, the students engaged in Cultural Day! The day included tasty foods, fun crafts, and interesting facts about great places around the globe. The students had a chance to share about their own cultures and celebrate diversity. Thank you to Ms. Munn and Senora Litwinetz for making creating this opportunity for the students.

Continue to tune into our Facebook page on Tuesday night for read alouds presented by district staff members. The students are enjoying guessing the Mystery Reader each week and listening to the books they read. Thank you to all of our Mystery Readers for taking the time to create something special for our students.

Have a wonderful March,

Mrs. Guinan
