Gifted & Talented Enrichment Program
The Student Enrichment Program (STEP) is designed to provide ongoing enrichment opportunities for gifted students in grades K-6. Recommended students are evaluated using a Gifted & Talented (G&T) matrix consisting of several academic indicators and a gifted rating scale. STEP recommendations are accepted annually, and students can qualify for enrichment in one or more of the following subjects: ELA, math, and cross-curricular. Services are provided to all eligible students through push-in support, pull-out instruction, and school-wide enrichment opportunities.
“Strengthening Gifted and Talented Education Act”
All NJ School Districts must comply with the new “Strengthening Gifted and Talented Education Act,” which establishes each school district's responsibilities in educating gifted and talented students. A copy of the document can be accessed by clicking here. Further, one provision of the law states that each school district must have a complaint policy on gifted and talented education. If you would like to file a complaint about our program, policies, or procedures, please utilize the G&T Complaint Form.
