LEHSD Title III - English as a Second Language (ESL)
Title III is a federal program under the Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA). More information can be found here. The purpose of Title III is:

To help ensure that multilingual learners attain English proficiency and develop high levels of academic achievement in English

To assist all multilingual learners in meeting the New Jersey Student Learning Standards (NJSLS)

To assist teachers and other staff in implementing effective language instruction designed to support multilingual learners

To assist teachers and other school staff in enhancing their capacity to provide effective instructional programs that prepare multilingual learners for English instructional settings
-
To promote parental, family, and community participation in language instruction educational programs for the parents, families, and communities of multilingual learners.
