• The Department of Special Services consists of personnel responsible for identifying and developing educational programs and support services for children who have educational disabilities.  The Child Study Team (CST) consists of a School Psychologist, Learning Disability Teacher Consultant (LDTC) and a School Social Worker.  Related service providers include Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, Certified Occupational Therapy Assistants, Physical Therapist, Behavior Specialists, and Counselors.  
     
    The child study team’s primary function is to evaluate and design appropriate programs for children experiencing learning and /or behavioral difficulties.  An Individual Educational Program (IEP) is designed for students eligible for special education.

Ms. Erin Lichtenwalner

Erin Lichtenwalner has been the Director of Special Services in Little Egg Harbor School District since July 2015.  Prior to this position, she was a School Psychologist in Egg Harbor Township for five years, and a Special Education Teacher prior to that.  She has worked with students from preschool age through 21 years old.  She obtained her Bachelor of Science from Penn State University, a Masters Degree and Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychology from Rowan University, as well as her New Jersey Supervisor Certification from Stockton University and her New Jersey Principal's Certification from New Jersey Excel.  

Ms. Lichtenwalner loves working with the staff and families in this community.  She has three children, Miller, Noa and Laila.  She enjoys spending time with her family and being outdoors - especially at the beach!
