    Back to School Night isTONIGHT.  5 GUNN AND 5 WOROSZ WILL MEET IN MISS GUNN'S ROOM--ROOM 302.
    IT IS FROM 6:00--7:30.PLEASE GO TO THE MULTI-PURPOSE ROOM FIRST!  THEN, THERE WILL BE 2 SESSIONS, EACH 1/2 HOUR EACH!

    PLEASE LEAVE ALL POST-ITS AT HOME OR WITH MISS GUNN.  POST-ITS WILL BE PROVIDED WHEN NEEDED DURING READING, SOCIAL STUDIES,  AND WRITING WORKSHOP.(Post-its are NOT used for doodling or passing notes to others and cluttering the inside of desks!)  

    GOAL= Get organized and learn!

    PLEASE HAVE 5 PENCILS SHARPENED, ONE BLUE OR BLACK STICK PEN, AND A RED STICK PEN.  PLEASE, NO CLICK PENS. 

    Please have your binder in class daily with the plastic binder pockets that were given out last week.

    PLEASE HAVE YOUR OWN EARBUDS FOR CHROMEBOOK USE THIS WEEK!

    When absent, please see the bin in the front of the room with your work.  When absent, your TEAM will write down what you miss and collect any handouts!  Together, we will help each other learn. If absent, please bring in a note.  For longer upcoming absences, please provide at least 3 days notice for work to complete while away!

    5G and 5W will celebrate Dot Day on 9 /16/19. We will be doing some "dot" painting, so please dress appropriately.

    School is closed on Thursday, 9/12 for staff inservice.

    Thank you for a great two days, 5W and 5G!  I am truly looking forward to a wonderful year!
    Today, we started to get our binders in order, as well as reviewed both our school and classroom rules and expectations.  On Monday, you will all received the color coded pockets for your binder. Please do not buy these, I already have them ready for all students.  This will be the basis of our organization binder system, the SOAR system.  
     
    We worked on two activiites, PAX program signs and Our Ned Champion Pledges. We also have a classroom pledge to make us reflect upon our important learning!
     
     
    My, what a great two days! We are learning to work cooperatively and collaboratively.  Students are becoming more aware of their classmates, and how we can all help each other learn.  Thank you for your positive energy and willingness to try new things.  Have a great weekend! We believe in you, and you can do many things well. Keep up the "can-do" attitude!
     
    PLEASE RETURN ALL FORMS, ESPECIALLY THE 5W IDENTIFICATION FORM.

    5W, ON MONDAY, YOU WILL RECEIVE ABSENTEE NOTE FORM AS WELL AS THE TESTING SCHEDULE FOR THE YEAR.  
     
    MRS. WOROSZ'S CLASSES:
    PLEASE DO NOT BRING THE FOLLOWING TO READING, WRITING AND SOCIAL STUDIES:
    DRY ERASE MARKERS, HIGHLIGHTERS, TISSUES, POST-ITS. I WILL SUPPLY THESE WHEN NEEDED.  
     
    5W--REGARDING SNACK. IT IS A WORKING SNACK TO BE DONE IN 5 MINUTES. YOU MAY HAVE THIS AT 2:30--2:40 ALONG WITH WATER. PLEASE, NO GATORADE, JUICE BOXES, OR FLAVORED DRINKS AT SNACK. AGAIN, SNACK IS OPTIONAL.  STUDENTS WILL NOT BE SHARING SNACKS DUE TO NUMEROUS ALLERGIES IN THE ROOM.

    PLEASE LEAVE ALL POST-ITS AT HOME! IF STUDENTS BRING A CELL PHONE, IT NEEDS TO BE STORED IN THE BOTTOM OF THE BOOK BAG AND TURNED OFF. IT IS ONLY TO BE TAKEN out on the bus.  Please follow the school rules.  
    5W CREW:  Office papers were sent home today in a plastic pouch with students.  Please fill out completely and return all forms that were clipped together in the pouch by Tuesday! Please note, the light tan nurse form needs to be filled out on both sides. Please keep the clip for use in our planners coming next week.  
    Thank you for your help in returning these forms as soon as possible.  Looking forward to a great year with all of you! 
     
    SINCE OUR LUNCH IS AT 10:00, STUDENTS MAY BRING A LIGHT, SIMPLE HEALTHY SNACK TO BE A WORKING SNACK, EATEN IN 5 MINUTES. THIS TAKES PLACE FROM 2:35--2:40. DUE TO FOOD ALLERGIES, SNACKS CANNOT BE SHARED.  STUDENTS ARE EXPECTED TO CLEAN UP AFTER THEMSELVES, AND DO NOT LEAVE ANY SCRAPS OR CRUMBS IN THE CLASSROOM. ALSO, CLEAR WATER MAY BE IN THE CLASSROOM IN A SENSIBLE SIZED WATER BOTTLE. WATER BOTTLES ARE REFILLED AT LUNCH TIME BY THE STUDENT. PLEASE DO NOT SEND IN GATORADE OR POWER DRINKS FOR CLASS TIME USE.

    Dear  5-G~W Crew:  

    Ahoy there! Welcome aboard our fifth grade Crew at Frog Pond Elementary School!  I hope you are enjoying your summer. I have been extremely busy preparing for your arrival in Room 306 to sail into learning adventures. I am so happy that you have been assigned to our 5G~W CREW. This will be an exciting year of learning. Our first day is Thursday, 9/5, A FULL DAY. 

    Our fifth grade will be departmentalized. Your teachers this year will be Miss Gunn for Math and Science in Room 301 and Mrs. Worosz for Reading, Writing and Social Studies in Room 306

    Please bring with you on the first day the 5-G~W supplies (see 5W Supply List ON MRS. WOROSZ'S WEB PAGE). We will set up our 2-3 inch SOAR binder on FRIDAY, 9/6. Mrs. Worosz  looks forward to seeing you on Thursday, September 5th, as we sail into a year of new adventures.     4. DISTRICT CHROME BOOK USE--5W and 5G, please make better choices! Go ONLY to the sites assigned: Google Classroom, Google Docs, and Studies Weekly, using Clever for Mrs. Worosz. Students are not to be accessing You Tube music videos or going to other sites, which in some cases are inappropriate use of district computers. 

    5W and 5G CREW: Please cooperate! Be aware your digital footprint can be traced! 5. CELL PHONES--Follow the district policy, turned off and in the bottom of the backpack until you get to the bus to go home. Our school day ends at 3:15 p.m. Make good choices and get your work done! OUR WORD FOR THE MONTH IS RESPONSIBILITY. LET'S PUT THIS INTO GOOD PRACTICE. Be positive! Take on new challenges and learn! Be motivated! Most of all be kind and be nice!

     

    2.  TECHNOLOGY CONCERN: MAKE BETTER CHOICES!Let's learn from our mistakes, be positive, and move on!

    *REFLECT AND CHANGE YOUR WAYS IF YOU NEED TO....ARE YOU BEING A GOOD DIGITAL CITIZEN WHEN USING YOUR SCHOOL ISSUED CHROME BOOK?

      YOU ARE ONLY TO GO ON GOOGLE DOCS, GOOGLE CLASSROOM, AND STUDIES WEEKLY WHEN IN MRS. WOROSZ'S ROOM. 

    MANY OF YOU ARE GOING ONTO INAPPROPRIATE SITES AS WELL AS LISTENING TO MUSIC WHILE IN SCHOOL. WORK NEEDS TO GET DONE AND MANY OF YOU ARE NOT FOLLOWING THE TECHNOLOGY CONTRACT OF THE DISTRICT OR THE ONE THAT YOU SIGNED WITH MRS. WOROSZ. 

    THINK ABOUT IT, CHANGE YOUR WAYS AND BECOME A BETTER STUDENT! PARENTS/GUARDIANS PLEASE BE AWARE OF YOUR CHILD'S ACTION ON SCHOOL CHROME BOOK ISSUED TO THEM.
