World Autism Day is a global event celebrated on April 2nd every year to promote acceptance, support and the inclusion of autistic people as well as for the advocation of their rights.
Today, in support of World Autism Day, our schools will be participating in Bubbles for Autism.
Blowing Bubbles for Autism started 20 years ago in NJ with Kyle Mosca and his preschool class. Kyle, like many children both with and without autism, loved bubbles. Kyle's mother and founder of “FACES Autism Support Group,” a Family Support Network for families with children with autism (www.faces4autism.org), had the insightful idea to have Kyle blow bubbles with his preschool class so that they could participate in an enjoyable shared experience. It went over so well that others began to do the same and "Blowing Bubbles 4 Autism" was born.
Blowing Bubbles for Autism has grown exponentially every year with tens of thousands of people all over the world now participating! It is held every year in April, Autism Awareness month, fostering acceptance, a sense of community, and an awareness for the importance of celebrating diversity.
Paraprofessional Appreciation Day is a day to recognize the hard work of paraprofessionals, also known as paraeducators, teacher aides, or instructional aides. They are an important part of the education system and we can not thank them enough for all that they do!

We want YOUR input!
Many New Jersey school districts are challenged with decreased State Aid funding resulting in increased class sizes, loss of programs, and reductions in staffing and, unfortunately, our school district is not immune to this serious issue.
As we continue to develop the budget for the upcoming school year, and in years to come, we always invite and welcome valuable community input.
To make it easy for community members to share their input, we have added a NEW form to our website!
Having a child(ren) enrolled in our school is not necessary - ALL community input is encouraged!
We truly value all ideas, comments, and concerns shared with us.
Share your comments, concerns and ideas here: https://www.lehsd.org/2025-2026-budget-input

The Little Egg Harbor Board of Education approved the following resolution which was sent to our elected representatives in Trenton to support the reevaluation of the state's funding formula for school aid. Little Egg Harbor was recently informed of a decrease in local school aid in excess of 1.5 million dollars. This cut in aid to our district may result in a reduction of services offered to our students including, but not limited to, increases in class size and major staff cuts.
Please reach out to your elected officials to express your dissatisfaction with the State's decision to cut our aid to Little Egg Harbor Township Schools in the wake of increased student enrollment and continued mandates.
This is an important announcement:

Tomorrow is World Purple Day.
You may be asking yourself "What is World Purple Day?"
Purple day was created in 2008 by Cassidy Megan, a young girl from Canada, who has epilepsy and wanted to get people talking about the condition. Cassidy decided to use the color purple because lavender is recognized as the international flower of epilepsy. Cassidy not only wanted to raise awareness but also assure people with epilepsy that they are not alone.
Join us in supporting Epilepsy Awareness by wearing the color Purple on March 26th.

School Counselors Celebrate During National School Counseling Week, Feb. 5–9, 2024
National School Counseling Week 2024, “School Counseling: Standards-Based, Student-Focused,” sponsored by the American School Counselor Association (ASCA), will be celebrated from Feb. 5–9, 2024, to focus public attention on the unique contribution of school counselors within U.S. school systems and how students are different as a result of what school counselors do. National School Counseling Week highlights the tremendous impact school counselors can have in helping students achieve school success and plan for a career.
The Little Egg Harbor School District thanks its school counselors for being actively engaged in helping students examine their abilities, strengths, interests and talents; for working in a partnership with parents as they encounter the challenges of raising children in today’s world; for focusing on positive ways to enhance students’ academic, career and social/emotional development; and working with teachers and other educators to provide an educational system where students can realize their potential and set healthy, realistic and optimistic aspirations for themselves. School counselors are certified, experienced educators with a master’s degree in school counseling. The combination of their training and experience makes them an integral part of the total educational program.
“School counselors work with all students to remove barriers to learning by addressing students’ academic concerns, career options and social/emotional skills,” said Jill Cook, ASCA executive director. “School counseling programs help to increase student achievement and provide a much-needed resource for students, parents, teachers and administrators. School counselors are integral to student success.”
So we take this week to say "Thank You" to our incredible school counselors for all their hard work and dedication to our students.
Congratulations to our Educators of the Year and Educational Services Professionals of the Year!
The BOE and Interim Superintendent Patte Blood recognized and commended their achievement at the last BOE meeting.
Congratulations again to our amazing staff!
Celebrating the life and work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., students in Mrs. Rendzia's Pre-K class created a Peace Tree to honor his legacy by promoting to kindness to everyone.
